Contemporary Portrait in Shades of Red

I just finished this portrait drawing using red colored pencils. Drawing in color is something I haven't done extensively in a long time. It's been sort of a sporadic thing until recently.

I don't really use colored pencils the normal way, meaning that I don't usually use them in a realistic manner color-wise. I use them in much the same way I would do a graphite drawing, mixing very closely related color pencils. It's not that I can't use them realistically, I just don't want to.

I also tend to use more cool colors: blues and greens and purples. Rarely red, but now that I have done it, I like it a great deal.

This portrait is Radio Head #11, and it is drawn with Prismacolor Pencils on a page from a discarded vintage ham radio log book. The blue notations on the radio log contrast nicely with the red portrait.
