I ran across this beautiful celeriac [AKA celery root] at the grocery store the other day, with their tops still intact. I picked up a couple to do some food photography to submit to my microstock site portfolios.
I have actually never cooked with celeriac, so I did a little investigating prior to pulling out the camera and found that they are often paired with potatoes, so I added some of those into the photography mix.
My new home has a great wall of windows in the sun room, ideal for photographing objects, so I set up there amidst the as yet not unpacked boxes. Not ideal, but good and fresh with a point of view. Later, I plan to do some drawings from the photographs, but in the meantime I put the photographs on my microstock portfolios, and did some photography art for my Fine Art America site.
Afterwards, I fixed some mashed celeriac and potatoes, which my husband actually liked, so we expanded our food repertoire as well; awesome!
